Liberty Hall:

Discover a treasure trove of American history among the walls of a revolutionary home that transformed into a 50-room mansion. A specialized guided tour through the Liberty Hall Museum will reveal fascinating stories about all the incredible women who lived and labored at this historic home.
From the daughter of Governor Livingston whose daring exploits saved Liberty Hall during the Revolutionary War to Mary Alice Barney Kean who worked tirelessly for preservation of historic structures to Abbe, an enslaved woman who attempted to self-emancipate while in Paris, we’ll learn the important roles in history these wonderful women played in both our community and in our nation.
Local Lunch:

Sit back and relax for an included lunch at a great local spot nearby.
Basilica Cathedral:

Now it’s time to discover a hidden treasure in our own backyard. Can you believe the fifth largest cathedral in North America is right around the corner?
Step inside the amazing Basilica Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, a French Gothic Revival beauty that’s roughly the size of Westminster Abbey and towers as tall as Notre Dame.
Have a quiet wander through its intricately designed spaces and you can’t miss largest pipe organ ever built by Schantz Organ Co.
Pricing & Departures:
Departs South Plainfield High School at the end of Lane Ave at 8:30 AM and returns at approximately 5:30 PM
Departs Morris Plains Community Center, 51 Jim Fear Dr. at 9:15 AM and returns at approximately 4:45 PM
Departs Ridgewood Graydon Pool at the corner of Linwood Ave & Northern Parkway at 10:00 AM and returns approximately 4:00 PM
Cars may be parked at all locations at your own risk.
No reservations accepted without a payment of $195 per person. Make checks payable to “Educated Wanderer” and mail to the above address. A full refund will be granted if canceled prior October 5, 2026. No refund will be granted on a cancellation that occurs after October 5, 2026. Educated Wanderer is not responsible for any delays, cancellations, injuries or circumstances beyond its control and reserves the right to change this itinerary.
