Why Should You Travel With Us?
Honestly, we can go on and on about why our small group international tours are amazing— but we've narrowed it down to six reasons. See how we do travel, differently.
“I write this review while relaxing in a great hotel in Rome. After spending 6 absolutely incredible days in Athens and Santorini, my wife and I are enjoying the last few days of our honeymoon in Italy. The Educated Wanderer really took a lot of time to tailor this excursion to be *exactly* what we wanted: enough sightseeing to immerse ourselves in the local culture, but sufficient downtime for us to enjoy each other.
It was really nice to show up in Athens with dinner reservations already made for us! Additional recommendations for dinner, activities, etc. in addition to the planned itinerary was really a nice touch. This was not some prepackaged trip that you could find in 5 minutes searching Google; this really has been a unique experience that we will remember for the rest of our lives.
I look forward to our next adventure through The Educated Wanderer!”
“I traveled with Creed and Laura on their trip to Italy a few years ago – and man oh man it was the highlight of my year! It was the perfect ratio of education to fun. Creed is a vault of knowledge, so it was superb having him narrate as we went place to place. I don’t have much time at this point in my life to plan out a trip, so it was nice to just show up and have all the logistics with a seamless, well thought out itinerary already in place. It should also be noted that the small group size was a huge plus! I will most certainly be traveling with them in the future.”
“Reading history is one thing, but seeing history truly leaves a lasting impression. Our class studied the British Empire and the implications it had on its numerous territories, focusing on India in particular. Traveling to the heartland of England and visiting the Bangladeshi communities provided a foundation of understanding that texts alone could not communicate. In addition to the cultural insight, touring the UK allowed me to experience the essence the country in a way that’s inaccessible to the average tourist. I felt like I was part of something and I long to continue where I left off.”
“From the moment I landed in Beijing with my group, my senses were overwhelmed by the rich history and modern peculiarities of Chinese culture. The structure of our time in China was well-orchestrated in that it gave us glimpses into its fast-paced urban life as well as the daily experience of its more rural citizens. Under the leadership of Creed Hyatt and his Chinese contact and interpreter, we spent a decent amount of time exploring Beijing – with all its tea shops, historical landmarks, and roadside vendors – and then traveled by bus along China’s wild roadsides to a smaller town where the door was open for us to step foot into the daily happenings of its residents. We also made the requisite trek up the Great Wall as well as the lesser-known Mt. Taishan, among other sites. I most appreciated the more intimate connections we had the opportunity to make – for example, spending the afternoon with Chinese students in Tiantan Park – as we were able to experience China on a more personal level and not simply stick to the over-trecked, sterile tourist routes. With depth, flavor, and a decent amount of walking and personal navigation, my 2010 adventure in China was one of color, culture, and strange tastes – for sure to be a travel experience I will not soon forget.”
“I had the pleasure of traveling to Rome some time ago, and the trip was made simple thanks to the efficient and thorough planning of Creed Hyatt. Transportation between the airport and the heart of the city, day trips to Pompeii and Florence, and sightseeing in Rome and the Vatican were all arranged ahead of time, with opportunities for personal exploration as well Quite simply the trip was fantastic, and I highly recommend Creed for those looking for a well-run experience.”
