Hempstead House:
Step inside extravagant Gold Coast opulence at Sands Point Preserve’s Hempstead House. Wander in amazement among the grandiose rooms inside the massive Tudor style castle where formal, grand parties were hosted along with gatherings of the powerful elite of the time.
It’s difficult not to be impressed by the imposing 60-foot tall, vaulted ceiling of the foyer that depicts the extraordinary lifestyle of the roaring 1920s and 1930s with its magnificent Wurlitzer Opus 445 Theater Organ as a decorative highlight.
Our tour will take us through miraculous room after miraculous room each with its own character and lavish charm.
Lunch in Port Washington:
There’s more of the North Shore to explore in the waterfront town of Port Washington.
Stroll the Main Street to find a tasty lunch on your own and take some time to wander the scenic waterfront areas by the Town Dock for picturesque views of Manhasset Bay.
Clark Botanic Garden:
Let’s take a wander through a local, serene tranquil oasis at Clark Botanic Garden. Walk through the wildflowers and Daylily garden and feel the peacefulness surrounding you.
Pricing & Departures:
Departs South Plainfield High School at the end of Lane Ave at 7:30 AM and returns at approximately 7:00 PM
Departs Morris Plains Community Center, 51 Jim Fear Dr. at 8:15 AM and returns at approximately 6:15 PM
Departs Ridgewood Graydon Pool at the corner of Linwood Ave & Northern Parkway at 9:00 AM and returns approximately 5:30 PM
Cars may be parked at all locations at your own risk.
No reservations accepted without a payment of $165 per person. Make checks payable to “Group Tours & Travel” and mail to the above address. A full refund will be granted if canceled prior April 3, 2026. No refund will be granted on a cancellation that occurs after April 3, 2026. Group Tours is not responsible for any delays, cancellations, injuries or circumstances beyond its control and reserves the right to change this itinerary.
