Overview:

long island

Long Island is a land filled with history and heritage from the North Shore to the South Shore, so let’s start exploring!  Step inside a historic manor home that will take you back to the age of splendor and beauty and go back to colonial times to experience daily life as it was in the 18th and 19th centuries.   Wander waterfront streets of historic towns and through landscapes designed to provide an oasis of beauty and quiet for pleasure, rest, and refreshment.

In the evening, we’ll celebrate the harvest with live music and tastings from local wineries while discovering all the wonders of the ocean at the Long Island Aquarium.

Why not grab an overnight bag and leave New Jersey behind on our fun two-day Long Island wine adventure!

Day One: Raynham Hall

colonial house

Let the adventures begin!

On our first stop we explore 300 years of espionage together with colonial life of the wealthy and enslaved and the roles they all played in the history that led to where our lives are today.

A guided tour of the Raynham Hall Museum will take us into the lives of the Townsends as we experience what it meant to be prominent merchants and heroic patriots and how their lives tie into the Culper Spy Ring and America’s first Valentine.

Oyster Bay:

After, take a stroll among the quiet streets of the sleepy hamlet of Oyster Bay and find a tasty spot for lunch.

Walk off a bit of that lunch and wander among the rural charm taking in all the quaint, historic character of the town.

Fish & Sips!:

After checking in our comfy hotel and settling in for a break, we’ll head out for an included Italian dinner before our big night out at the aquarium.

It’s Fish & Sips time!  With tasting glass in hand, stroll the enchanting aquarium after dark while sipping local wines and swaying to live music.

With over 20 local wineries and craft breweries you’ll be sure to find a favorite in this celebration of Long Island’s East End harvest.

Day 2: Bayard Cutting Arboretum

arboretum 2

A magnificent mansion awaits our visit at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum, a gracious gift by the Cutting family to provide a space for visitors to experience their exclusive and private oasis of peace.

Here we can wander the professionally designed landscape consisting of an unusual variety of plants and pinetum from all parts of the world as we make our way to the Great River Estate’s Manor House, formally known as Westbrook.

Manor House Tour:
