BAPS Sri Swaminarayan Mandir:
Today we’ll be transported to India on our special visit to the newly completed BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir right here in Robbinsville, NJ, now the largest in the U.S. and second largest in the world. A Mandir is a sacred Hindu place of worship, a place where the mind becomes still giving the opportunity to experience inner peace.
India’s sages have been enlightened with profound spiritual truths that serve as a basis for their rituals, philosophies, scientific discoveries, and religious faith. As an expression of their spiritual faith, yogis evolved and created beautiful mandirs to uphold these traditions. For centuries, these sacred spaces have remained a community forum in which people forget their differences and voluntarily unite to serve society.
The Mandir also serves as a place for understanding and appreciation of India art, culture, and religion for generations to come. On our visit here we’ll learn about Hinduism while enjoying exquisite Indian art and architecture.
Mandir Tour:
We will be welcomed with a short introduction followed by a video presentation of the history and construction of the Mandir, followed by a guided tour that includes viewing sacred images.
A beautiful Arti Ritual will be performed which is the innermost calling of the soul and symbolizes the five elements of space, wind, light, water and earth.
Lunch & Chocolate:
After our spiritual and cultural morning, we’ll dine together for an included lunch then be delighted with some chocolate tastings at the delicious David Bradley Chocolate Factory.
Pricing & Departures:
Departs Ridgewood Graydon Pool at the corner of Linwood Ave & Northern Parkway at 7:45 AM and returns at approximately 6:30 PM
Departs Morris Plains Community Center, 51 Jim Fear Dr. at 8:30 AM and returns at approximately 5:45 PM
Departs South Plainfield High School at the end of Lane Ave at 9:15 AM and returns approximately 5:00 PM
Cars may be parked at all locations at your own risk.
No reservations accepted without a payment of $195 per person. Make checks payable to “Group Tours & Travel” and mail to the above address. A full refund will be granted if canceled prior October 15, 2025. No refund will be granted on a cancellation that occurs after October 15, 2025. Group Tours is not responsible for any delays, cancellations, injuries or circumstances beyond its control and reserves the right to change this itinerary.
