Overview:

Let’s escape to the scenic, nearby mountains in Berks County, Pennsylvania for a night of wine and relaxation. Raise a glass and toast the lovely fall season at the cheerful Bear Creek Mountain Resort tucked away among 330 acres of wooded mountains. Breathe in the fresh air and stay cozy in the warm comfortable spaces as you enjoy the Harvest Wine Festival where you will enjoy complimentary wine and food samples from local producers as you’re soothed with the sounds of live music. After, enjoy all the wonderful amenities or activities the resort has to offer and have a leisurely dinner in one of the three restaurants of your choice.
Wake up the next morning with free time to delight in any activities you may have missed or sleep in and have a relaxing leisurely morning. This afternoon we’ll step into the extraordinary Sayre Mansion for an afternoon tea in the grand tradition of the great estates of the 19th century. We’ll be seated among the gracious surroundings of the formal parlor and dining room where we’ll enjoy a selection of freshly brewed tea, elegant finger sandwiches, decadent desserts and even champagne.
It’s the perfect quick getaway to relax and refresh before the holiday season.
Day One: Harvest Wine Festival

Today we head straight to the scenic mountains of Pennsylvania for some wine tasting fun at Bear Creek Mountain Resort.
Take your time to browse all the local vendors and partake in the many samples of wine and food until your heart and taste buds are content.
Bear Creek Mountain Resort:

When you’re ready, check into your comfy room for the night and enjoy any of the many amenities or activities that catch your eye.
Spend some soothing time at the spa or take a walk out in nature on one of the many trails of varying length.
Use your $50 dinner credit whenever you like at the warm and inviting Grille at Bear Creek featuring three large stone fireplaces. Just relax and enjoy the night!
Day Two: Relaxing Morning

Spend a leisurely morning enjoying anything you may have missed at the resort or take the morning to relax or sleep in.
Sayre Mansion:

Hidden in a busy neighborhood near the historic town of Bethlehem is a magnificent mansion built in 1858 by railroad pioneer and industrialist Robert Sayre.
The Gothic Revival style Sayre Mansion formed what became the remote and exclusive Fountain Hill neighborhood for the wealthy and elite.
Afternoon Tea:

It’s here where we step back into the 19th century for an afternoon tea in the grand tradition of the great estates. We’ll be elegantly served an assortment of delicate finger sandwiches along with a variety of heavenly pastries while sipping champagne and of course a selection of freshly brewed tea.
After, we’ll make our way back home to New Jersey filled with relaxation and fond memories.
Pricing & Departures:
Departs Ridgewood’s Graydon Pool at the corner of Linwood Ave & Northern Parkway at 8:15 AM and returns at approximately 5:30 PM
Departs Madison’s Kings Road Parking Lot, 62 Kings Rd. at 9:00 AM and returns at approximately 4:45 PM
Departs South Plainfield High School at the end of Lane Avenue at 9:45 AM and returns at approximately 4:00 PM
Price per person is $725 Twin & $845 Single. No reservations accepted without a deposit of $150 per person. Make checks payable to Group Tours & Travel and mail to the above address. Final payment is due September 24, 2023. Deposits are fully refundable if cancellation occurs on or before September 24, 2023. There are no refunds if cancellation occurs after September 24, 2023. Travel protection/cancellation coverage is available and highly recommended (cost is approximately 10% of the total cost of the tour) but not included. One piece of luggage per person and one small carry-on is permitted. Group Tours is not responsible for any delays, cancellations, injuries or circumstances beyond its control and reserves the right to change this itinerary. All trip components are subject to change in accordance with Government, State and Local guidelines and/or mandates. This tour will run rain or shine.

- Our philosophy of travel involves getting out of the ordinary to experience other cultures and places with an open minded attitude and flexibility. Since as in daily life, anything can and will happen, let’s embrace these situations with acceptance and understanding because they will either lead to an unexpected, amazing experience or positive learning experience.
- If anyone brings along excess baggage such as incessant complaining, under the breath rude comments, outward negativity or other such behaviors that infect the entire group or individuals, we have the exclusive right to remove them from the tour at their own cost with no refunds. (yes, this means you)
- If any major concerns arise during a tour, please just come talk to us and we’ll work it out!
