Florrie Kaye's Tea Room:
Today we’ll have an experience where we can step back into a different time, relax among friends, and be treated like royalty! So much more than a tearoom, Florrie Kaye’s opens the door to something unique and special. During our English tea lunch, we’ll be surrounded by Victorian dressed tables, antique photographs, china, and crystal lined chandeliers.
Our conversation today will focus on the Asian tea traditions in China and Japan with descriptions of their beautiful tea ceremonies and medicinal purposes of their specialty teas.
Hammond Museum & Japanese Gardens:
Now is a perfect time for a stroll among nature. The feel of summer is in the air, flowers and trees are blooming and we have an extra special place for wandering, the Japanese Stroll Gardens at the Hammond Museum.
Our senses will be delighted as we step along the paths that provide a place to feel the peace and wisdom of nature and take us on a voyage to a deeper understanding of the world around us. We will teach you the Japanese practice of using your senses to enhance your experience of the garden by listening to the crunching of pebbles beneath your feet, hearing the wind blow through the bamboo, feeling pine needles brush your skin as you pass through the trees and smelling the aroma of the surrounding flowering trees and plants.
Your garden adventure can be enhanced by visiting the galleries showcasing Japanese art that reflect the intersection Eastern and Western culture, promoting global awareness and understanding
Cold Spring, New York:
Before we return home, we’ll visit the picturesque, idyllic village of Cold Spring. The Main Street is filled with antique shops, specialty stores, boutiques, art galleries and cafes for coffee or more tea! Take your time to wander and browse, relax in the beauty of Dockside Park and enjoy the Hudson River atmosphere.
