Overview:

The Catskills not only brings fresh, springtime mountain breezes that are warm with the scent of new leaves and flowing water but also gives us the fabulous, one-of-a-kind Roxbury Motel. The funky, hip vibe surrounding you here is not only FUN but will instantly reconnect you with your sense of wonder.
There is no better place to unwind, relax, and refresh than in a Roxbury room that feels like you stepped into a dream. Created and designed by Greg and Joe, expats from Broadway, each room theme is inspired by films and TV shows from the 60s and 70s and brings with it a magical and whimsical experience to our stay in The Catskills. First registrations get first pick of their unique room! The Roxbury will even have their outdoor extra super-heated pool open for your enjoyment along with a hot tub and sauna, and for our walking pleasure, an easy, walkable trail system that leads to their beautiful 50-foot waterfall.
While here in the heart of the Catskills, let’s explore the area! You’ll ride the rails through mountainous scenery, wander the streets of charming villages, savor delicious local food, and gaze in awe at a cascading beauty!
Day One: Lunch in Oneonta

As we make our way north through the picturesque mountain scenery of The Catskills, we’ll find ourselves in the Bohemian, funky, renaissance town of Oneonta where we’ll take a break from our drive to have a stroll and find lunch on our own.
Day One: Cooperstown & Charlotte Valley Railroad

After lunch we’ll board the Cooperstown & Charlotte Valley Railroad at the Milford Depot for our scenic and entertaining ride into history and beautiful, mountain landscapes. Our ride will help us experience the past as it was in 1869 when rail travel was once the primary form of travel throughout the country. Sit back and relax and enjoy the ride in our vintage rail car and locomotives that wind us through the scenic wilderness of the Susquehanna River Valley.
Day One: The Amazing Roxbury!

Now onto The Roxbury for our much-awaited step into our fabulous, themed room experience! The night will be yours to spend as you please with an included dinner in town at the wonderful Chappie’s.
Day Two: The Roxbury at Stratton Falls

How lucky we will be this morning when we wake up in the magnificent surroundings of our spectacular themed room! There’s no better way to start the day than finding a cozy nook to enjoy a relaxing, leisurely coffee and breakfast within the amazing space and grounds of the motel.
The sister property to our home at the Roxbury Motel is our next stop where we will learn the stories and see photographs of the origins of The Roxbury’s Mansion. Not only is this place utterly and brilliantly magnificent, but also has a very interesting past. Just when you think this place can’t be any more spectacular, we’ll be cast under the spell of the glistening cascade of Stratton Falls and its millennia old rock formations on our short walk along the picturesque nature trail.
Day Two: Lunch in Margaretville

A delightful, included lunch awaits us in the shabby chic Catskills village of Margaretville, a blossoming artist community. Then back to The Roxbury for one more night of amazing!
Day Three: Kaaterskill Falls

As we leave Roxbury. there is still another fabulous, fantastic sight to see. Hidden in the depths of the Kaaterskill Wild Forest is the crowning jewel of stunning natural beauty cascading over 260 feet, Kaaterskill Falls. The area surrounding the falls has been considered a sacred place for Native Americans and has captivated the hearts, pens and paint brushes of artists, poets, filmmakers and photographers for centuries.
An easy stroll through a wooded path will take you to the spectacular upper falls viewing platform where you can gaze in awe at the wonderous stream of flowing and crashing water. There will be time to wander the trails or just rest and take it all in.
Day Three: Hip Town of Woodstock

Now onto a place that that serves as a symbol for peace, love, art and community, the small town of Woodstock, tucked away at the foot of the Catskill Mountains. Take your time to stroll the charming streets, pop into artsy shops and find lunch on your own.
The best thing about Woodstock, is that it’s home to Bread Alone where you’ll find the most delicious grilled cheese ever made on the planet! Don’t miss this fantastic ending to a sparking Catskills getaway.
Pricing & Departures:
Departs South Plainfield High School at 7:30 AM and returns at approximately 7:00 PM. As you enter from Lane Avenue, park on the left side along the fence between the two schools.
Departs Madison’s Kings Road Parking Lot, 62 Kings Rd. at 8:15 AM and returns at approximately 6:15 PM. Park in the large lot next to the police station. We will take care of the fees but will need your car info.
Departs Ridgewood’s Graydon Pool Parking Lot at the corner of Linwood Avenue and Northern Parkway at 9:00 AM and returns at approx. 5:30 PM.

No reservations accepted without a deposit of $150 per person. Make checks payable to Group Tours & Travel and mail to the included address. Final payment is due March 23, 2022. Deposits are fully refundable if cancellation occurs on or before March 23, 2022. There are no refunds if cancellation occurs after March 23, 2022. Travel protection/cancellation coverage is available and highly recommended (approximately 10% of the total cost of the tour) but not included. One piece of luggage per person and one carry-on are permitted. Group Tours is not responsible for any delays, cancellations, injuries or circumstances beyond its control and reserves the right to change this itinerary. All trip components are subject to change in accordance with Government, State and Local guidelines and/or mandates. This tour will run rain or shine.
