Overview:
Tis the season for Halloween hauntings, fall foliage, farm time fun and best of all artistically carved Jack O Lanterns lighting up the sky! Join us as we wander the landscape of the Roger Williams Park Zoo that will be transformed into an illuminated organic gallery of 6,000 pumpkins, all lit with a variety of colored LED lights glowing along our pathway. A second nighttime adventure will take us on the Viaggio di Fantasme or “Trip of Ghosts” along the peaceful serenity of the Providence riverfront in an authentic Venetian gondola. We’ll journey through 200 years of history at Linden Place, an 1810 Federal style mansion occupied by slave traders, merchants, tycoons and artists, each with an intriguing story to tell along with ghostly tales and rumored hauntings. Get “lost” in the magnificent corn maze at Escobar Farm and take in the Fall foliage sights and scents on a hayride through the picturesque countryside, and wander among unique, creative sculptures in a quaint New England setting. There’s lots of fun to be had up in Rhode Island, so why not leave New Jersey behind and join in the fall festivities!
Day One: Linden Place
Sit back and relax on our scenic ride up to Rhode Island where our first stop will be historic Linden Place, a Federal style mansion built in 1810 with an interesting, storied past. Our tour will introduce us to the family members and share some ghost stories about the rumored hauntings here as we wander through this magnificent space. After an included boxed lunch, there will be time to explore the sculpture filled gardens containing Greek bronzes and an 18th century gazebo.
Day One: Bristol Harbor Inn
It’s a short walk across the street to our boutique, harbor front Bristol Harbor Inn where we can relax, unpack and unwind before heading out for an included dinner that will fuel us for our nightly outing…..
Day One: Jack O Lantern Spectacular
…to the Jack O Lantern Spectacular! We’ll take our time to wander through this amazing display of artistry, light and “spookiness” to celebrate the fun Halloween season. It will be a delightful surprise to experience this year’s theme of this annual event where anything is possible!
Day Two: Quaint Bristol
This morning spend time enjoying the hotel or exploring the lovely town of Bristol, known as the quintessential New England waterfront town with an historic feel and picture perfect views. Wander this historic enclave along the numerous walking paths leading to stunning vistas, a treasure trove of centuries old homes and locally owned boutiques.
Day Two: Tiverton 4 Corners
If Bristol’s quaint charm isn’t enough to fill your spirit, join us on our visit to the historic village of Tiverton Four Corners filled with a unique collection of shops and galleries surrounded by gray shingled homes, winding stone walls, old, picturesque barns and water views. Enjoy the fresh air in this unhurried and friendly atmosphere as you walk the few steps between shops and galleries to peek in windows and meet artists at work. Peruse the grounds at the Four Corners Art Center & Sculpture Park containing fanciful artistic installations among the scenery.
Day Two: Viaggio di Fantasme
Tonight we will hop aboard our authentic Venetian gondola for the Viaggio di Fantasme or “Trip of Ghosts” along the Riverwalk of Providence. Our gondolier will reveal all the haunted happenings along our route and serenade us with songs as we enjoy handmade Italian wine biscuits and sip our favorite beverage (feel free to bring wine or drink of your choice!)
Day Three: Escobar Farm
We have one more day filled with fall time fun! On Aquidneck Island in Portsmouth, Rhode Island lies Escobar Farm, a small dairy farm that has managed to keep their local traditions alive despite the ever-changing world surrounding them. Sit back and relax on an informative hay ride through the scenic dairy farm and if you’re up for a challenge, wander the seasonally themed corn maze for an a-mazingly fun time!
After our farm adventure, we’ll grab an included lunch in a local spot, then make our way back home but leave all the ghosts behind!
Pricing & Departures:
Departs South Plainfield High School at the end of Lane Ave at 7:00 AM and returns at approximately 7:45 PM
Departs Madison’s Kings Road Parking Lot, 62 Kings Rd. at 7:45 AM and returns at approximately 7:00 PM
Departs Ridgewood’s Graydon Pool South lot (across Linwood Ave) at 8:30 AM and returns at approximately 6:15 PM
Price per person is $1,025 Twin & $1,225 Single. No reservations accepted without a deposit of $150 per person. Make checks payable to Group Tours & Travel and mail to the above address. Final payment is due September 10, 2022. Deposits are fully refundable if cancellation occurs on or before September 10, 2022. There are no refunds if cancellation occurs after September 10, 2022. Travel protection/cancellation coverage is available and highly recommended (cost is approximately 10% of the total cost of the tour) but not included. One piece of luggage per person and one small carry-on is permitted. Group Tours is not responsible for any delays, cancellations, injuries or circumstances beyond its control and reserves the right to change this itinerary. All trip components are subject to change in accordance with Government, State and Local guidelines and/or mandates. This tour will run rain or shine.
