Derek Jeter is one of the finest baseball players that has ever graced the field. He spent his entire illustrious 20-year career with the New York Yankees. Our weekend is highlighted with attendance to the exceptional induction ceremony that will honor this sports icon. Many other exciting activities and events take place in Cooperstown this weekend. Enjoy unlimited access to the National Baseball Hall of Fame during our tour. Even those who have little interest in baseball will enjoy the museum’s many outstanding exhibits and the festive atmosphere in Cooperstown. Yankee fans will take additional pleasure in the induction of Derek Jeter. Be a part of history as we witness one of the most emotional induction ceremonies in years and see one of the largest gatherings of the National Baseball Hall of Fame inductees ever assembled.
Day 1. Our drive to Cooperstown will take us on scenic roads in Upstate New York. Upon arrival we enjoy lunch on our own and free time in Cooperstown, New York. This lakefront community boasts a waterfront park and several stores and restaurants. In order to participate in this weekend’s activities, we become members of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. This will enable us to have unlimited admission to the National Baseball Hall of Fame during our tour, as well as other benefits. Since accommodations are very limited in the Cooperstown area, we overnight in the Hilton Hotel, Albany, about 1 ½ hour drive from Cooperstown. Our hotel is in the heart of the downtown. Dinner this evening is on our own in the comfort of our hotel or a nearby restaurant.
Day 2. This morning we return to Cooperstown. It is suggested that everyone take a small portable chair with them for sitting at the ceremony, since there is no grandstand seating available to the public. Prior to the ceremony, there will be time to return to the downtown, revisit the museum and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of this festive weekend. Expected are more than 50 National Baseball Hall of Fame inductees. Many will be available on a meet-and-greet basis with autograph signings available at an additional cost. This afternoon, get set for the Induction Ceremony that honors those players who have reached the ultimate honor this sport can give them. After the ceremony, we depart to New Jersey with fond memories of our weekend getaway.
