Glenview:
A magnificent 1877 Gilded Age stone home lies along the banks of the Hudson River within the grounds of what is now the Hudson River Museum. Glenview, built in an eclectic Late Victorian architectural style built by John Bond Trevor as a suburban getaway from the city.
Our tour will take us through six fully restored period rooms, all decked out with glittering garlands, ornaments, and trees among the fine woodwork, furnishings, artwork, and fantastic architectural features. Also on display is Nybelwyck Hall, an amazing 24 room dollhouse decorated with miniature floral bouquets.
After, we’ll enjoy an included lunch right here at the museum.
The Sky Tonight:
Now it’s time to take a trip into space at the Hudson River Museum Planetarium where we can explore the secrets and discoveries of the Cosmos. Sit back and gaze into the dark sky as we learn the mysteries of the moon and stories that shape our stars.
We’ll take an awe-inspiring tour of the night sky as seen from our area including visible planets, seasonal constellations, and bright stars. We’ll also learn about the secrets of the Milky Way, comets, alien planets, upcoming rocket launches and more!
Pricing & Departures:
Departs South Plainfield High School at the end of Lane Ave at 8:00 AM and returns at approximately 6:30 PM.
Departs Morris Plains Community Center, 51 Jim Fear Drive at 8:45 AM and returns at approximately 5:45 PM.
Departs Ridgewood’s Graydon Pool parking lot (corner of Linwood Avenue & Northern Parkway) at 9:30 AM and returns at approximately 5:00 PM.
Cars may be parked at all locations at your own risk.
No reservations accepted without a payment of $185 per person. Make checks payable to “Group Tours & Travel” and mail to the above address. A full refund will be granted if canceled prior November 12, 2023. No refund will be granted on a cancellation that occurs after November 12, 2023. Group Tours is not responsible for any delays, cancellations, injuries or circumstances beyond its control and reserves the right to change this itinerary.
